Welcome to the official website of the Band Philadelphia Rhythms of Cape Town. This site showcases the history, past to present, the impact and contribution made by the group to the “Rhythms of Cape Town”. Formed in 1947 by trumpeter Mr. Arend Hendricks (Born 24 March 1915) the band is one of the oldest active groups on the Cape’s Ballroom or locally known Langarm circuit. The longevity of the group’s success can be attributed to the fact that they managed, through all those decades, to maintain the old while embracing the new thereby fusing tradition with contemporary.
